I finally decided to show my music paper to my parents on Friday. My mom gave the expected, "Harr? What happened? Why so low?" I think everyone was in shock because they heard the Haydn symphony being played at least 40 times and me staring at the computer notes for so long. Then the usually educational mom gave me a surprise. She noticed that I do better when I don't study, so I shouldn't study for music the next time. At the most, a few days before. Then Jean came in with the best quote, "Desperation is the mother of inventions." Therefore, don't study too early. More importantly, don't _______________ before a music exam. Ai, Joanne, Jie Ying and I suffered. Thanks to those who tried encouraging me. Really appreciate it. (And JY, I must stress that I'm in a good mental state already) Jean, on the other hand, came home with news that she topped German and SS so far. Maybe I should try living by her quote.

Saturday was outdoor evangelism for fellowship. My group went around the neighbouring blocks and eventually found ourselves at this large place which holds bird singing competitions. I even saw a bird singing committee on their notice board. It included the MP for AMK. At first I thought those were the names of the birds. Unsurprisingly, the board was bombarded with a considerable amount of bird shit. There are many poles and so you bring your bird all the way to this ulu place in Ang Mo Kio, do some bird raising ceremony and let it get a bird's eye view of the field.
Jacky was being is usual lame self, and because of him, that's the impression I have of RI boys. No, jk. My uncle took my group and so we made him demonstrate. He went up to an elderly man sitting on a bench under the shade of a tree and started trying to talk to him about Jesus. They had a short, friendly chat while the rest of us were pretending not to watch. He finally came back and told us that guy was not able to interact with any other form of religion other than Buddhism because he was born on Vesak Day. The smart Jacky used that to hypothesise why the old man was sitting under a tree. (tell me if you don't get it because lame jokes are hard to appreciate sometimes)

Jean and I took a walk home and got bored along the way. Jean started challenging her hand phone camera.This is what we got. This is what a lousy camera is good for.
Sunday was a nice day. Dad led worship and activated 4 people to play for him. His bro was on the guitar, Jean and I on the usual piece of wood, and Enqi played the piano. Not bad considering Enqi's still new to it. It's nice having more people improvising because if you accidentally make a mistake, it can be covered up. You just have to go repent and change for the better. No, I'm just kidding.
At night, we went to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. It's interesting how the older you get, your birthday is more likely to be celebrated at some restaurant. Whereas for young people like me (I'm not old yet), it's usually at a house. Outside the restaurant was the bungee jumping thing at Clarke Quay. Jerome was begging his mom to let him go on the thing, but he was about 3 or 4 times under aged. Either he would shoot off to the moon, or his bits of Tung Lok food would rain on the Singapore River. Actually, come to think of it, if someone actually gets sick up there, it would be quite messy for the people standing under the ride. I hope they have umbrellas at hand.
The food was pretty interesting, especially this complimentary desert thing. It was freshly squeezed orange juice put inside a boiling tube-like dish. Looks like orange precipitate. All that was lacking was a test tube rack...
Jean went off for her Sec 3 Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) camp this morning. I think it's quite fun. She told almost the whole world that she was going to clear her bowels on Sunday night so that she wouldn't have to dig any shit hole for the next 5 days. And they get to canoe from Pulao Ubin to Semakao island and back. Seems really interesting. But I think she'll end up sleeping from Friday to Sunday when she gets back.

I suddenly found myself laughing in the car while looking out of the window. Jean finally realised why and this picture/advertisement is specially dedicated to her.
